For manufacturing

The best ideas come from the shop floor. They shouldn't die there.

In manufacturing, the people closest to the work see the cost-saving and safety improvements that operations leaders never will. Sparqbox gives them a structured way in — and gives you a structured way to evaluate, decide, and close the loop.

Why ideas die in manufacturing

Three patterns we see at every plant we talk to.

Lost in shift handovers

An operator spots a 5-second saving on the line. They mention it to the next shift. By Friday it's forgotten. By Monday a different operator hits the same problem and works around it the same way.

Safety vs cost get the same triage

A safety idea and a cost-reduction idea need very different urgencies and reviewers. Without categories and weighted criteria, both end up in the same generic queue — and the urgent one waits.

Operations and engineering work in silos

Operations submit ideas. Engineering decides feasibility. Without a shared scoring rubric, every conversation starts from scratch and 'we tried this before' kills momentum.

How Sparqbox fits the plant

Categories, criteria, and decisions that match how your floor actually works.

Set one category per type of idea — process improvement, cost reduction, safety, energy, quality. Each gets its own weighted criteria and threshold. AI runs a first review against those criteria within seconds; coordinators score independently within 48 hours; the weighted total fires the decision.

Bilingual capture

Operators submit in Dutch, German, English — whichever they prefer. AI handles translation for the review.

Mobile-first submission

QR codes on machines or break-room posters route straight to the submission form. No app to install.

SLA per category

Safety ideas can be set to a 24-hour SLA. Cost ideas a 7-day SLA. The system enforces it for you.

What gets submitted

Real categories from manufacturing pilots.

Process improvement

Re-sequence the welding station so operators don't walk past the same fixture twice — saves 11 seconds per unit.

Cost reduction

Switch from sealed-bearing motors to open-bearing on the conveyor — €4,800/year per line in maintenance.

Safety

Replace the metal grip on the press handle with a textured polymer — eliminates the slip incident we had in Q2.

Energy

Power down compressor 3 between 23:00 and 05:00 when the night shift only runs lines 1-2.

Common questions

Quick answers.

Do operators need a corporate account to submit?

No. Submissions can be open to anyone with a link or QR code. Reviewers and coordinators have accounts; submitters don't need one.

Can we add custom categories like 'OEE improvement' or '5S'?

Yes. Categories, criteria, and thresholds are fully configurable per company. Most manufacturing pilots end up with 5–8 categories within the first week.

What about union or works council requirements?

Sparqbox doesn't replace formal suggestion programs that have legal requirements (e.g. Dutch ondernemingsraad / German Betriebsrat). It runs alongside — capturing the day-to-day improvement ideas while formal channels handle their scope.

Does it integrate with our MES or ERP?

Q3 2026 — webhooks and a REST API on the Scale tier let you push approved ideas into your work-order system. Until then, CSV export covers most workflows.

Every idea deserves an answer.

Give your team the one thing a suggestion box never will: a real decision, every time.
